Acupuncture
Have you ever, would you ever, try acupuncture? I’m seriously considering giving it a try.
Crashed
It was 3:30 p.m., Sunday afternoon. We just came home from swimming at the YMCA. When I left her she was watching tv in the livingroom. She stopped talking to me and didn’t reply when I said her name. This is what I found when I came around the sofa. Do you think she was tired?

Don’t tell me!
I’m sitting here in my pj’s, watching the men’s final of the Austrialian Open. I DVR’d it at 2:30 a.m. this morning and hope that it didn’t go over the 3-1/2 hour sloted time that ESPN2 had set for it, or else I’ll have to wait until 2:30 p.m. to watch the end of the it when it’s replayed (ESPN2 has it on again starting at 11 a.m.). Wouldn’t that suck? If you know who won already …. DON’T TELL ME!!!!
I’m rooting for the guy from Cypress, Marcos Baghdatis, who is playing Roger Federer. In my opininon, Federer may be a great player, but he’s incredibly boring to watch play. He has zero personality on the court. I usually root for Andy Roddick (out), Raphael Nadal (injutrf), David Nalbandian (out), and Marat Safin (injured). While Baghdatis took out two of my favorite players (Roddick and Nalbandian) he is awesome on the court. He’s like a firecracker out there!
Did you see the women’s final on Friday night? Amelie Mauresmo won in the second set when Justine Henin-Hardenne retired due to stomach pains. She was winning to begin with, but how disappointing to finally win a Grand Slam title that way.
What’s on your scedule today? I’ve got more things to list on ebay, I’m watching tennis, and I’ll be going to the Y to workout. That’s about it. It’s a dreary day and it’s raining. What’s up with that?
Photo Friday

Today we (Hubby, nephews, Zoe & I) took the train to Chicago to visit the Shedd Aquarium. Here is a photo montage of our day.
Here are the kids on the train, we’d just arrived in Chicago.
Shedd Aquarium, Chicago, Illinois

Here we are in front of the shark tank. You can’t see the shark, but I’m sure there’s a huge one right behind us. That’s Ian in the burgandy sweater, and Connor in the ‘Vote for Pedro’ t-shirt.
On our way down to the see the dophins!
This isn’t the best picture because of the lighting, but this is the dophin pool. The pool looks out over Lake Michigan. How cool is that?
Not the best picture, those darn dolphins were super fast! See the two of them diving?
Here is Hubby & Zoe on our way from the Aquarium to Navy Pier. I thought the walk would be about 10 minutes, ***Navy Pier looked only about a mile away, but it turned out to be a 40 minute walk. There was lots of complaining!
You can’t see the pier in this picture, but it’s right about here (***), just a little to the right of this building that is cut off at the edge of this picture.
Here it is, the BEST part of my daughter’s day today in Chicago. She got to take the train, spend the day with her cousins, see lots and lots of really cool fish, go for a two plus mile walk along the shore of Lake Michigan. Was any of that the BEST part? Why no. The best part happed at Navy Pier, which is a mall that is built on a pier on Lake Michigan. We needed a place to sit, and found some benches near a stage in the mall. Then a juggler/balloon guy started a show and CHOSE HER to be his assistant on stage. She was beyong excited!!! And yes, she only has one shoe on, he took the other one and balanced it on his nose.
Houses, Trains, and Ebay
The house hunting saga continues….
House #3 was fabulous, however it’s completely vacant. The owners were relocated across the country, and there’s a relocation rider in effect which means that we can’t put in an offer that is contingent upon our home selling. We aren’t willing to do that, as we haven’t even listed our home yet. We are just in the looking-to-see-what’s-out-there phase.
House #2 is sold already. Done deal. We didn’t didn’t even get to look at it.
House #1 has an offer in on it, but we were able to look at it anyways. Yuck. The ‘master bedroom suite’ was upstairs and you had to dunk your head (AT THE WAIST!!!) as you went up the stairs, or else you would body slam your top half into the roof and most likely tumble down the steps. It would be perfect if you were a munchkin ….
Tomorrow (Friday) Hubby and I are taking Zoe, and my twin 11 year old nephews to the Shedds Aquarium in Chicago for the day. Usually we’d drive there, but this time we decided to take the train. It’s a 90 minute ride from Milwaukee, and it’ll be my very first train ride. I’m pretty excited actually! More excited to be on the train, than to go to the aquarium. I’ll be sure to take lots of pictures!
I’ve got loads up on ebay! Feel free to browse, bid, and buy
at Boutique Indigo!
Do you sell on ebay? What one item did you sell, that you thought for sure no one would want to buy?
Can we say spooooooky????
We decided not to put in an offer on the house I told you about on Friday. It was tough to pass up, but there were things about it that I know I could not have handled — like the lack of a basement, and a crawl space instead. You could access this crawl space by going through a trap door in the closet, and that was where the furnace and central air unit was located. I opened the trap door and took one look inside, and what came to mind was the final scene from The Blair Witch Project. You know the one, where the guy is standing in the corner?
Can we say spooooooooky???? I didn’t think I’d be able to sleep at night with that image in my head.
On to the next three houses! All three of these are bungalows, which is what we have now. If you look at the pictures, the rooms look very similar to my home. I have the china cabinet and buffet, the stained glass windows in the living room, the rich woodwork, and the remodeled kitchen. What I like about these homes that my home currently doesn’t have, is that the upstairs is completely finished with a master bedroom and bath. We have empty attic space upstair, and then in the middle of it, a bedroom which we use as a playroom.
Two of the homes have either a rec room, or some sort of finished basement. That’s a big plus! And I’m pretty sure they have updated bathrooms, which is also a must as we gutted and remodeled our bathroom in 2002. It’s gorgeous!
All of the homes are in the quaint Village of Wauwatosa, close to Zoe’s school, close to Hubby’s work (like 5 miles away), and closer to my work (around 15 miles away, but I wouldn’t have to go through the heaviest part of traffic on the interstate anymore, so it would cut my travel time from 45 minutes to about 20).
(Updated 1:20 p.m. CST) Eeek! My Blog-Mother, Better Safe Than Sorry (abtly named) has pointed out that posting the pictures of the houses we are looking at ALSO posts the address. So, you’ll have to do with the kitchen pics only —- and that’s because the kitchen is one of the main things I’m interested in.

House #2
House #3

We are looking at them all tonight. I’ll keep you posted!
If you aren’t finding any of this house talk interesting, check out The Rock Bitch, or visit my Question of the Day and see what’s going on over there.
