Jasper the Shark

Posted by Indigo on Aug 20, 2007 in Family, I'm just saying, Zoe |

Jasper is my cat, and while he’s super cute, he’s the biggest  pain in the ass sometimes.

I’ve come to realize that he’s really a shark and I’ll bet that if I took a look inside his belly I’d find everything that has mysteriously disappeared from my house (and quite possibly I’d even find the missing F9 key from my keyboard at work).

Zoe got a brand new swimming suit last week, and it was too big. So I put it in my car to give to my mom to exchange for a different size. I took it out of my car, held it up, and found that there was about 4″ missing from the shoulder strap.

How odd? You’d think I would have noticed that the strap was broken when I bought it? And surely it would have been noticeable when Zoe tried it on. I took a closer look at the strap, looking for a jagged gnaw mark, a sure sign that Jasper had chewed through it, but it was a clean cut. It looked like someone had taken a scissors to it, that was last week Wednesday or Thursday.

This morning I woke up to the sound of a cat puking in my bedroom. The clock said it was 5:44 a.m., one of the dogs was prancing around because she had to go outside, so I rolled out of bed and found a puddle of puke in the dining room. Oh great.

But not so bad because in all honesty, the carpet was in dire need of a good cleaning, so I got out my mom’s Bissel carpet cleaner, the one that I borrowed well over a year ago and haven’t returned yet, and started to clean the dining room carpet. I almost forgot about the cat puke in my bedroom, so I headed in there with my little Spot Bot …. but wait, what’s this …. is it really a 4″ long pink Speedo swimming suit strap?  Right in the midst of the cat puke?

Yes. The cat is guilty as sin. Yet again. But at least this time he didn’t need emergency intestinal surgery.

He’s so freaking lucky.

Your cat is really a dog! that has dog behavior written all over it! Sorry I was laughing when I read this, but really, your cat is a D-O-G. No self respecting cat would eat a bathing suit. A Q-tip maybe.

I had a cat that loved to eat rubber bands…perhaps your cat just wanted the elastic within the strap???? You’re right though…puking kitties are not pleasant, but at least no surgery was required.

Michele sent me to see you today!

Oh yuck! I hate cat puke! My previous kitty of 19 years did that all her life…bulemic thing I swear. Thank goodness no surgery required this time for Mr. Jasper.

That is so funny. Serves him right for being sick.

I used to have a cat named Jasper too! Once, he ate a huge thick rubber band. $500 and emergency surgery later, he was good as new. And we were more diligent about picking up rubber bands!
