On Saturday, in the midst of my blog server nightmare situation, I went for a six mile treadmill run. I started out wearing my Vibram FiveFingers, and everyone tells you to take it slow in them. TAKE IT REALLY REALLY SUPER DUPER SLOW.
Like, I mean it!
You are supposed to take about a month to break your body into what is essentially barefoot running.
And before I knew it was I at three miles. Things were going good, but I stopped to change my shoes for the rest of the run, because I’m not a complete idiot.
This morning I rolled out of bed at bright-and-early o’clock and felt parts of my legs that I did not even know existed. GOOD MORNING CALVES!
Holy crap, it’s now 7:30 pm and my calves went from being kinda tight to being really pissed off. Expecially my left calf.
Clearly one .75 mile run, a few days of walking, and one .50 mile run in the VFF’s wasn’t slow enough. I may need to bribe my husband into rubbing my calves for me tonight. I’m not above begging. I might even try crying…..
