Bon voyage!

The day is almost here, one that she has worked incredibly hard for over the last five and a half years in order to be able to go on this trip. Tomorrow, she leaves with a handful of her classmates for a two week trip to Salon de Provence, France. The kids were each matched up with a family, most of whom have children who will come to visit us in May. Wow. Tomorrow I’m sending my kid to another country to live with another family. I’m very excited for her, and I’m so proud of her.

I stopped and picked up this super awesome scrapbook for her to chronicle her adventure, she needed someway to make this trip into a keepsake. I wish they would allow the kids to take their digital cameras with them — one too many have left them at the airport, or on a field trip — but since they can’t I need to rely on the teachers and her host families photos.
