• AT&T U-Verse vs Time Warner Cable

Menomonee Falls and surrounding communities, I need your help.

    Who is your television provider?

I currently have Time Warner Cable, but I’ve been thinking of switching to AT&T U-Verse for a while now. My only problem is: What if I don’t like it and then I have to switch back? I’ve been there done that with a satellite dish and Tivo. Three days was all I could take of it and then I went crawling back to Time Warner. Please take me back! Please!

I’ve read all of the literature about U-Verse, and I’ve watched the video clip on their website, I know the signal comes into my house through a cable, but for the life of me I can’t get my husband to accept the fact that it DOES NOT ARRIVE FROM THE ABANDONED DISH ON OUR ROOF. He knows way more about technology that I do, but he thinks of AT&T and his brain goes to the dish and then he says, “Oh no freaking way Jose.”

However, his tune is changing because for two weeks a row now our new HD cable box will not receive the signal for certain channels. Whenever we turn to Bravo, Sci-Fi, and Animal Planet we get the blue screen with a the little yellow triangle that tells us that the signal cannot be received at this time, please try again. And when the DVR didn’t record Top Chef, or his Sci-Fi Friday night line-up because the channels aren’t being received, well, he’s getting a little ticked off.

Besides the channel issues, I would really like to have the one DVR box that I can access from all of the tvs in the house. As it is now, we have two DVR’s and four tvs. I’m getting tired of carrying my DVR back and forth between my bedroom tv and the one that is in front of my treadmill in the basement. And the thought of being able to record four shows at a time is very appealing.

So help me out here, who are your tv signals from? Do you love your provider? Or are you shopping around too? I’m specifically interested if you have AT&T U-Verse and would like to know if you’ve ever had any problems with them? What is the service time?
