Doesn’t the title say it all? I could spend hours linking to posts where I’ve blogged about all of the cups, everyday drinking glasses, and every expensive stemless wine glasses that I’ve broken over the years — and a figurine too. There was a reason we drank out of Classico Spaghetti jars for as long as we did. Trust me.

So there’s this Thermos tea mug that I’ve been drooling over for months now. Should I get it? Shouldn’t I get it? What if I don’t like it? What if it really doesn’t keep my tea hot? Well on Saturday I finally broke down and bought myself one. The lady at Teavana said to me, “you’ve been looking at this mug for a long time and you are finally buying it.”

Yes. I finally bought it.

And it served me well for 4-1/2 days.

Yesterday I was coming into work and dropped it in the lobby on the ceramic tile floor, which, you should know is on top of cement. And there you have it. Nothing I drink out of is safe. The stainless steel mug is fine, not even a scratch on it, but the plastic cover that it used to drink out of broke — right where my mouth goes. I think if I lean to the left and pour the tea into my mouth sideways I might be able to not spill it all over myself.

I’m going to call Thermos today and see if I can get a replacement cover. If not, I believe I will need to start clipping all of my cups/glasses/mugs to my body so that if I drop them, they will not hit the floor, and rather will bounce off of my knees and spill my drink all over my feet.
