this morning i found a bird’s egg underneath my pine tree

when i looked closer there were actually seven eggs scattered
we looked in the tree for the bird’s nest

we found it on the ground instead
it was turned upside down
and my husband turned it right side up using a stick

aren’t these blossoms pretty?
it’s next to my house in my front yard
if i’m sitting in the office on a windy day i can hear the branches hitting against the house

this is the tree in my front yard
i love it when it blooms

I dont suppose the mom came back, did she? Sad.

I suppose it might have been the wind… but I am inclined to think it was a predator bird. So sad.
Those are lovely blossoms. I do love springtime.

(I should say, they don’t *completely* lack a sense of smell, rather it is not sophisticated enough to smell or fear humans.)
Birds lack a sense of smell, so you could/should actually pick up those eggs, replace them in the nest, and put the nest back up into the tree.
We did that last week and the mom returned to the nest.
Aww…poor baby birds in those eggs.
If their mom/dad can’t sit on the nest to warm them they will all die. *sad sad*
The flowers are beautiful.
