Staycation: Day 3

On Sunday Zoe found Fred.

This is Fred, see his false eyes? They are on the right side, he's moving towards the left.

She brought Fred home from our hike in the Northern Kettle Moraine Unit and on Monday night she found another caterpillar, which she’s named Ginger. Ginger looks like Fred at first glance, however she’s completely different.

And now we have a caterpillararium.

What a lucky couple of a caterpillars.

Oh, what fun! The first is that you have two caterpillars to watch. The best is that you have a child who knows what fun it is!

I love it. We built a butterfly garden last year, and have all sorts of fun finding and identifying the caterpillars.

you know we had these as kids, we collected “silk worms” – not sure if you have them here in the US – I grew up in Australia……but everyone collected them and then they finally turned into butterflies…..beautiful. So fun………
