Staycation: Day 5
It’s the last day of my staycation, and it’s the day before my 40th birthday. This morning my husband gave me my birthday present: the morning at the spa. It was awesome! I had my legs waxed, then I had a one hour full body massage, and last was a facial. I think I loved the facial the most, it was like having a full hour shavasana where I just melted into my happy place. They couldn’t fit in a pedicure today, so I have that to look forward to next Thursday at 4:35 p.m.
When I came home my husband and daughter had filled that giant flowerbed in with mulch. We still have a huge pile of mulch left in the driveway though, I may have over estimated a bit when I ordered five yards of it. After lunch we went to the Lakefront Festival of Arts which was at the Milwaukee Art Museum. I loved the festival and I enjoy buying artwork from stuff like this, but holy moly, there was not a huge amount of art available that was in my price point. That was a bit of a disappointment.
We then went out for pizza, and while we ate we played “would you rather”. All of the “would you rather’s” seemed to stem around me either staying 39, or me turning 40. For instance, Zoe asked me: Would you rather stay 39 forever and do this day over and over again for the rest of your life (a la Groundhog Day), or turn 40?
Let me think about this.
Hell yes!
But it’s not because I’d stay 39, it’s because I’d get a massage and a facial, someone else hauled most of the mulch, I browsed through artwork, and I got to eat pizza. Staying 39 is just the cherry on the top of a great day!

Happy Birthday!!!
Hope your day is as fantastic as mine was today..lol. Thanks for the warm wishes on my blog too..

Hope you have a very delightful birthday! Forty was my best birthday. Sounds like you’re celebrating in style. Love the spa idea.
Happy, happy birthday.
Oh, we June babies are special, aren’t we? Happy birthday. You are the harbinger of summer!
You don’t want to stay thirthy-nine. Turning forty began one of the best decades of my life. I was in the same house, in the same family, in the same job (for a while), and it was *still* better.
