Thursday Thirteen:
- The next few days are packed full of busy.
- Friday morning I’m saying buh-bye to Time Warner Cable and HELLO to AT&T U-Verse.
- Friday night is wine club.
- Early Saturday morning is yoga.
- Late Saturday morning the kid and I are getting our nails done.
- Saturday afternoon we have tickets to see The Wiz.
- My husband was all: A musical? I’m staying home.
- So I’m taking one of the kid’s friends to the play instead.
- And then we are going out for pizza.
- Which brings me to Saturday night — Netflix has delivered Father of the Bride, a great family film.
- But we are all out of popcorn.
- Note to self: Buy popcorn.
- I’m totally sleeping in on Sunday.

The One Without a Title
Tonight is wine club and this month we are tasting South American wines. One of the best parts about tonight is that the hostess has THE BIGGEST chick-lit book collection I’ve EVER seen! Oh Kate, I’m bringing my library book bag to check out some books.
Tomorrow is yoga, a facial, probably the movies, and of course starting Season 3 of Battlestar Galactica. I really need to get a Blu-Ray DVD player for the basement so I can be on the treadmill while I’m watching Starbuck duke it out with the cylons.
I suppose I could stop at Best Buy on the way home. I’m sure it’d be less than another PS3.
And speaking of the Playstation 3, I really need a DVD remote control for it. It just seems ridiculous to be controlling the DVD player using a joystick. Which, by the way, is in the shape cylon spaceship.

Holiday Extravaganza
Tonight is my wine club’s 4th Annual Holiday Extravaganza so I decided to look back to see what I had to say about the 2008 wines. NOTHING! I wrote nothing. How can this be? The last time I wrote about the December wines was in 2007, that night we compared expensive wines to the more affordable wines.
Since I didn’t document last years wines at all, I decided to PRE-document this years selection. So, if you are attending wine club tonight I guess this is a heads-up.
Here are a few facts about what was selected:
- Number of bottles: 8
- Whites: 4
- Reds: 4
- Continents represented: 3
- Countries represented: 5
- California: 3
- Italy: 1
- Washington: 1
- Austria: 1
- France: 1
- Argentina: 1
- Most economical (that’s a fancy way to say lowest price): $28.99
- Biggest splurge: $69.99
Here’s what is being served tonight:
- Gaston Chiquet Champagne
- Buty Semillon, Sauvignon and Muscadelle, 2008
- Setzer Riesling, 2007
- Catena Alta Chardonnay, 2006
- Corino Barolo, 2003
- Whitehall Lane Cabernet Sauvignon, 2006
- Talley Estate Pinot Noir, Arroyo Grande Valley, 2005
- Howell Mountain Vineyard Beatty Ranch Zinfandel, 2005
All of the wine were chosen by Ben at Waterford Wine Co., who we rely on each December. Thank you Ben!
