1. The bug man is here to spray my home to get rid of the ants. I finally couldn’t take it anymore. Goodbye ants!
2. I had to crate the cats inside of the dog crate so they’d be out of the way. Rudy and Jasper were easy, but I had to tackle Olive and skinned my elbow in the process on the carpeting. She is so freaking high maintenance, like the Gabor on Green Acres. Maybe, I’ve never watched the show so I can only assume.
3. My new Dell laptop is on the way, kinda, there’s a delay because I only had one internal keyboard to choose from and that’s on backorder. ETA is August 19th.
4. In the meantime it’s just me and my iPad because my old Dell doesn’t have any virus protection and we all know how well *having* virus protection worked out for me, I don’t want to tempt a Trojan without a safety net.
5. So, the question has been asked how do I use my iPad?
6. The answer is that I didn’t even like it at first, but now I can’t imagine being without it!
7. I love the iBook application because I can download a sample of any book for free, which amounts to the first few chapters. I’m using it as my ‘what I want to read’ list. I never thought I’d enjoy reading an electronic book, but I really am. Currently I’m reading Private, and I read the sample of Little Bee — which so far is amazing — but Gov. Jen gave me the real book so I’m going to read it the old fashioned way.
8. My next favorite app is the NY Times crossword puzzle, which I had to pay for after the two week introductory period ended. They sucked me in! I love doing the crossword puzzle! And actually finishing it every once in a while.
9. I also can blog right from my iPad using the WordPress app, it makes it very easy. I wish I had a bold button though, that’s the only thing I’d probably change.
10. There is a Facebook app, but I prefer to go to Facebook the regular way, which is super easy using the web browser.
11. Visiting blogs, or at least reading them, is easy to do on my iPad also. I use Google Reader.
12. I can watch ABC shows on it too, because the folks at ABC made a app for that. I can also stream my Netflix movies from the iPad, anything that’s in my instant queue is available.
13. Don’t tell my husband this, but I read the USA Today on here all the time.
Thursday Thirteen: Bugs in the Dell with my iPad

Thanks for writing about your iPad! It sounds like the kind of gizmo I would absolutely adore. I just got a Barnes & Noble Nook and am totally in love with it. I thought I would hate being paperless but… ohmygosh, I LOVE it.

There are actually WP apps that work with ipad.
Someone asked me recently if they should get an ipad to replace their messed up Dell (Dell again!)
I told that person that an ipad will not replace your computer and she should get a laptop. No one really “needs” an ipad. They can be productive under certain circumstances.
wordpress app!! yup!!!!
I’m still trying to decide whether or not I need an iPad! It seems like wretched excess since I already have a MacBook and a Sony Reader, but the cool factor cannot be denied.

Re #2: Zsa Zsa wasn’t on “Green Acres”; it was her sister Eva. I didn’t watch it either.
