Trixie Bella

On Saturday we watched the movie Twilight. It was the first time I saw the movie, and since I didn’t read the book I was clueless. Well, not entirely. I knew there were vampires, but that was about it.

It turns out that I loved the movie, and after consulting many friends, they persuaded me that I needed to read the book Twilight because it was “so much better” than the movie. And then I could go on to read book two, New Moon. I really wanted to run up to Barnes & Noble on Saturday night to get the book, but I figured my husband would kill me, so I quietly waited until the next morning. And then I dragged Zoe the bookstore and bought the first two books.

I started to read Twilight on Monday night when I went to bed. This book is 498 pages long. It’s Wednesday and I’m on page 375. And as soon as I’m done with book one I’m reading book two, and gosh I hope I can milk it out until Monday when books three and four arrive in UPS. (The price online was just too great to pass up versus the price in the bookstore seeing as they are both in hardcover. )

Anyhow. I can’t put the book down! I feel like I’m a kid again, sitting in the black leather chair in my parent’s living room, with my nose stuck in a Trixie Belden book. I couldn’t put those books down either.

Don’t you love finding books you can’t put down!?!

I am not normally a fiction reader and especially not teen fiction, but I LOVE THESE BOOKS!

Book Three is the best – just wait and see!

I enjoyed Twilight more than I expected to. I like vampire stories, but all the pre-teen fangirly stuff kind of turned me away at first. I bought the book at the airport because it was one of the only ones available that I hadn’t read yet… and fortunately enjoyed it quite a lot. I didn’t really get involved enough to read the sequels or see the movie, though.

    Mingle on!

i read the first in one day, the second took about two days, the third i struggled with, took me over a week and i never thought i’d finish the fourth, i was literally forcing myself to read a chapter every few days. i loved the first two, i hope you enjoy the rest of the series. i have yet to see the movie.
